This morning, as per usual, I overslept. By a lot. This resulted in me spending the next 10 minutes of my day darting around the kitchen, trying to find something quick and easy to eat. After some futile rifling through the cupboard and fridge, I turned to the fruit bowl. Poking out from underneath a mountain of fruit (my mum feeds me well!) was a small papaya, with ripe, golden skin that screamed "eat me now!". I did as I was told. So, I cut him in half and scooped out the seeds (which I actually planted in some pots in the greenhouse! I'll be sure to do a blog post about all my gardening activities at some point today.) Then, I grabbed various other fruits and created myself a little "platter".
So, why am I writing an entire post on some cut up fruit? Well, my dear, because papaya is AMAZING. It's absolutely full of nutrients (224% of your daily vitamin C, anyone?) and is really high in fibre and various anti-inflammatory components. So eat a papaya. Eat it now.
I served mine up with blueberries, grapes, strawberries and cantaloupe melon.
